Purpose of our diploma work was the design and assembly of a machine to load a
existing machine, which is already in use by the company Träumeland GmbH in
Hofkirchen. The Company produces baby- and children- mattresses in two different
sizes, which are sold all over the world.
Our machine consists of four different parts
- Transport-table
- Lift-axis with the gripper
- Slide – in-table
- Safety housing
The Process starts with a full pallet of mattress. On each new pallet are three stacks
with maximum 22 mattresses. An employee puts the pallet on the transport-table,
where it is registered by a sensor. When the start button is pressed the machine
begins to work. The lift-axis takes with the gripper the first mattress and places it on
the slide-in-table. After the operator actuates the foot button the slide-in-table moves
the mattress into the existing machine. This is repeated until the first stack is empty.
Then the transport-table moves the pallet with the mattresses until the sensor
registers the second stack. The same happens with the last stack. When the pallet is
empty the transport-table runs back to the start position and the operator can replace
the pallet.
The purpose of the safety housing is to protect people from injury. It consists of
aluminium – profiles and plexiglass. The loading zone is protected by a light curtain,
which stops the whole machine, if somebody passes the light curtain.
