Problems

The goal of the Matura project is to make the diploma thesis flame and plasma cutting system of the year 2019/20 functional through improved concepts. Despite the excellent work of the students, this Matura project failed due to unforeseen circumstances. Because of this, a couple of problems arise:

• Expandable electronics
• No working program
• inadequate security measures
• no suction
• Control panel too heavy
• Renew user interface and program

Process

The first and most difficult task was to understand the documents of the predecessors and to familiarize oneself with the system through them. After the first insights into the system, we started to build a program in Twincat v3.1, while construction and user interface concepts were created at the same time. After several months of testing and many meetings and manufacturing hours, we came to the end of our Matura project.

Result

The successful repair and commissioning of the machine lead to the result that from now on students can experience the process of flame and plasma cutting for themselves. It is also possible to gain experience in this area by testing the machine with a specially programmed NC part.

The system can also be used for the production of workpieces that are required in the workshop or for subsequent Matura projects.
