Zaumdo

Als wir 2012 die Idee zu einer Platform hatten, auf der Menschen von überall auf der Welt gemeinsam an etwas arbeiten können, waren wir begeistert und voller Tatendrang diese Idee in die Tat umzusetzen. Schnell mussten wir jedoch feststellen, dass uns noch das nötige Know-how und die Zeit fehlte um ein derartiges Projekt umzusetzen.

Umso glücklicher war es für uns ein Jahr später im Zuge unserer Diplomarbeit die Möglichkeit zu bekommen diese Idee umsetzen zu dürfen. Wir haben in dieses Projekt all unser Wissen und unsere Hingabe investiert und so in über 700 Stunden Arbeit und 15.000 Zeilen Code etwas geschaffen, wovon wir vor ziemlich genau zwei Jahren nur träumen konnten.

Zaumdo(.com) ist eine interaktive Online-Plattform für Projektmanagement. Zusammenarbeit steht im Vordergrund. Diese sollte für den Nutzer möglichst einfach und selbsterklärend sein. Dem Nutzer wird die Möglichkeit geboten Projekte zu erstellen, sich in Gruppen mit anderen Usern zu vernetzen, an Dokumenten zu arbeiten und Informationen auszutauschen.

Die Diplomarbeit umfasst alles, von der Programmierung der Plattform, über das Deployment, sprich das Administrieren eines Linux-Servers bis hin zum Marketing und dem weiteren Betrieb.

Our goal is to provide a public platform, which allows people to collaborate and to get creative. With Zaumdo, everyone is able to create projects or to work on existing ones.

The idea came up due the fact, that the conventional way of organizing or doing things in a group via the internet was not so easy and everybody used a whole bunch of different tools to accomplish the task.

Using Zaumdo, you have one central place online to carry out your projects or any organizational tasks , where everybody has access to.  Zaumdo, from a high level perspective, provides user accounts, social interactions between users and the ability to create projects or to participate in existing ones, all packed in a simple and nice looking user interface.

From a more detailed point of view, a project can be either
– Public: everyone is able to see and therefore participate in the project
– Private: nobody can see the project, except its members and the administrator has to explicitly add you to become a project member
– Open: everyone can see a project preview page and can therefore apply for project membership

Every project on Zaumdo has the following tools for collaboration:
– Chat: project specific chat messaging
– Tasks: manage tasks in the format of a todo-list, check them if they are done
– Discussions: discuss important topics with your team
– Documents: write on text files online and at the same time with all the other project members (realtime text synchronisation)
– Files: upload all the project relevant files to one central place and share them with all project members
– Calendar: keep track of all the events and deadlines
